This is the most meaningless claim that I have come across on the Internet these days. Almost every SEO company is claiming to be able to do this or “your money back”.
Page one of Google
Take for example our Website Design and SEO company, Orange Ocean Internet. We are NOT near the top for a search term like “SEO” or “website design” yet. That is a very worthy goal, but takes a lot dedication, time, effort and continual on-page and off-page optmisation. However, we are top of Google for the search term “Orange Ocean” and “Orange Ocean Internet”. This may be very exciting, however unless you have a brand name like Google, or Coca Cola you are not going to find too many people searching for you, and obviously as a result have very little traffic to your webisite. The point I am making is that its not particularly difficult to get to the top of Google for what is called long tailed search terms, ie. search terms with very little competition. If you took the claim at face-value of Page 1 of Google or your money back without quantifying the search terms, you will not get much benefit from the optimization and you wont be getting your money back.
If your company, brand or product name isn’t well known, there won’t be many searches for it. As a result, it will be fairly easy to get to page one of the major search engines (you may even be #1 already). While that’s great, there’s no SEO advantage if nobody is typing the company, brand or product name into a search engine.

I agree completely with you, had a company recently promise to get me to page one of Google for the keyword “accommodation”.. Yeah right!! And how long will that take?

I don’t want to give the wrong impression here.. I am not saying that this is impossible, just sometimes implausible. In your case of the accommodation keyword, it has taken accommodationforstudents.com a lot of hard work to get to number one on Google UK, where there are currently 112,000,000 other sites competing for that keyword. They have 17,000 pages in google index and backlinks galore. Most importantly, the website provides a good service.

You certainly may, just be aware that Google can and will penalise you for duplicate content, so it might be best to use the noindex meta tag to prevent search engines from indexing your version of the content, its up to you. We always appreciate links, Thank you.
